Elgg 1.8 Companies, Premium Profile Types

Turning your Elgg site into a community that have different profile/user types can be achieved with Roles and Profile Manager plugins but that alone is not enough to make it fully work especially if you want it to operate like a “business directory service” or plan to add payment processing for “Premium” members. If you want to turn your Elgg site into a business directory service and review site ( similar to Yelp) we have created this model using several custom plugins geared towards separating Company/Business user from Free users. This model can be applied to any other “Premium” member not necessarily a “Company” and can be expanded on. With our set of custom plugins the Business user gets different avatars, different profile layout, profile fields and some other functions. Here is a list of some of the custom functions.

This model also uses optional Google geolocation to find user/business address ( zip code, City, State, longitude, latitude, etc. ) for use with the system for searching/filtering as well as to display a map. Please Contact us for more details on this Elgg customization.
